Wilson to lead the fledgling department in 1913, and while less than 25% have been women, it’s still more than any other post. …Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su was first nominated to serve as Deputy Secretary of Labor in 2021 under Marty Walsh, a former union leader from Boston. Walsh left two years into his term to work for the National Hockey League Players’ Association, which should have logically meant that Su would step in to fill his role.
