Coalition of Hollywood Labor Unions Slams Kimmel Suspension
Posted On: Sep 19, 2025
Sept. 19, 2025 | FIRST AMENDMENT | (Click the image to view.) The Producers Guild of America and a coalition of Hollywood labor groups have added to the chorus of guilds that have released statements criticizing ABC‘s suspension of Jimmy Kimmel. “Free speech is fundamental to our democracy,” the PGA wrote Thursday. “It is the lifeblood of our industry. Late-night television has long been a space where satire and commentary contribute to our national dialogue. We believe that artistic expression is essential and that critical voices must not be silenced. The Producers Guild of America condemns censorship and stands with all who exercise their First Amendment rights.” Deadline  Editor’s note: Kimmel is a member of SAG-AFTRA and WGA.
