If you were formerly employed by Yellow Corporation or one of its related entities, any claim for amounts that may be due to you from the company must be made by November 13, 2023. The IBT plans to file a comprehensive, “omnibus” proof of claim on behalf of the bargaining unit members so that all affected members will be included in the claims process. If you want your information to be included in the omnibus claim, you must go to this link and fill out the form. You may also file your own proof of claim using the Claim Form provided by Yellow or electronically through this portal established for the bankruptcy case.

Senators formally request Dept. of the Treasury act to preserve Yellow Corp. jobs
Nov. 8, 2023 | Massachusetts Senators Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren have formally requested the Department of the Treasury to act to preserve union jobs while ensuring taxpayer money is not used to reward Yellow Corp.’s bad behavior. The senators sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen expressing concern about Teamster jobs put in jeopardy by Yellow’s bankruptcy, noting the company’s financial troubles despite Teamster concessions and a $700 million loan from the federal government. Learn more at 992 News.

Amazon Teamsters strike spreads to two Baltimore warehouses
Nov. 9, 2023 | Amazon drivers picketed two Amazon warehouses in Baltimore today over the company’s unfair labor practices. The pickets at the BWI2 and BWI5 warehouses are just the latest in a four-month strike by drivers from the company’s DAX8 delivery station in Palmdale, Calif., that has spread to warehouses around the country. “Amazon doesn’t care about our safety, so we organized a union to keep ourselves safe,” said Jarrid Long, an Amazon driver and Teamsters Local 396 member from Palmdale. “I’ve been chased by dogs. I’ve been close to fainting from the heat in the vans. We are on strike to put an end to Amazon’s unfair labor practices, and more Amazon workers are joining the fight every day.” Teamsters

A bidder’s plan to put Yellow back on the road

Nov. 28, 2023 | When Yellow abruptly shuttered its operations in the summer and filed for bankruptcy protection, few thought that a buyer would emerge and try to revive the long-troubled trucking giant. Now a prominent trucking executive has assembled a last-minute plan to acquire Yellow out of bankruptcy — a proposal that seeks not only to rehire many of the company’s employees but also to work with their union, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, to create a healthy business. The plan rests on getting the Treasury Department to allow Yellow to postpone repayment of a $700 million rescue loan that it made to the company in 2020.
