Taking Back the American Dream
Updated On: Oct 05, 2011

Oct. 3, 2011 | *Updated The folks that are occupying Wall Street, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, and hundreds of cities around the nation are doing so on behalf of The 99% (that's us!) and to protest the greed and corruption of the wealthiest 1%. Two events in Washington D.C. this week will bring together local activists and advocates with others from across the nation to talk about what must be done to empower working people, rally to demand immediate action on jobs, and fight for a stronger, fairer economy. Take Back the American Dream 2011, sponsored by Campaign for America's Future and Rebuild the Dream is a conference that begins today and culminates Wednesday with a rally at the U.S. Capitol. Stop the Machine (October2011), a separate nation-wide movement in solidarity with OccupyWallStreet, will rally October 6 beginning at Noon at Freedom Plaza in downtown D.C. OccupyDC began October 1 and is on-going.
